Jeffco Youth 3v3 Basketball Charity Tournament repeats success
The fourth Jeffco Youth 3v3 Basketball Charity Tournament was a huge success, according to the event organizers. Forty teams participated and raised $3,700 for Jeffco Schools Foundation which supports Jeffco Public Schools in preparing all students for a successful future.
In 2011, Ambree Rogers, Brenda Christy and Kathy Miks wanted to involve their sons in fundraising for a non-profit over the winter break. The teens decided to organize a basketball tournament and selected the Jeffco Schools Foundation to benefit. The event was organized and run by youth and adult volunteers who shared a passion for basketball and helping out our community.
The planning committee extends its sincere thanks to the following individual’s for their assistance in helping with the tournament:
- Chad Broer, Chatfield High School Athletic Director, for providing the facility
- Micah Pauldino and the Gold Crown Officials for providing referees
- Chatfield Boys Basketball Players for assisting with the special events
- Chatfield Slam Dunk Booster Club for providing concessions and feeding the officials
- Zach Snyder and Panther Physical Therapy for providing the Vertec to measure vertical jump
- King Soopers for donating Gatorade for the Gatorade Toss
- Costco for donating Gatorade for the Gatorade Toss
- Jeffco Middle and Elementary Schools for promoting the tournament via their school newsletters
